Anthony (Tony) Buckley
The Man Who Met Raymond Longford lecturer
When I first thought of establishing an annual Longford Lyell Lecture as part of the Archive's Research & Academic Outreach Program, I was in no doubt about who should be invited to deliver the Inaugural Lecture in 2001. It had to be film and television producer and devotee of Australian Cinema - Tony Buckley.
Anthony Buckley AM now AO was, after all, "The Man Who Met Raymond Longford", as the lecture is titled.
The lecture was delivered on Saturday 12th May 2001 in the Theatrette of what was, at the time, ScreenSound Australia, the momentary name of The National Film & Sound Archive.
Today, the NFSA Owls are pleased and proud to celebrate an offering of another Old Wise Lovely Senior on this 25th anniversary of the Inaugural Longford Lyell Lecture by Mr Anthony Buckley AO.
